Roger Flint entered the service on July 1, 1951, and was discharge on July 4, 1954. He received basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, California. He was transferred to Treasure Island, San Francisco, California for Navy Electronic School, and from there he was transferred back to San Diego to the Marine Radio School.

Roger was sent to the Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point, North Carolina where he worked in the Transmitter Station. He was in the Marine Tactical Control Command Unit in the 1st Marine Air Wing Division at the Air Base K-3 at Pohyndang on the east coast of Korea where he worked as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in the communication repair section. Roger received the Good Conduct Medal/Ribbon.

Roger is the son of Vivian and Leroy Flint. He married Barbara K. (Wallace), now deceased. They have three sons: Lee, Paul, and Allen.

Roger received a B.S. Degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. In 1955 he was hired by Collins Radio and worked there until his retirement from Rockwell Collins in 1990.
