The MISD Board of Education viewed performance assessment results in keeping with "No Child Left Behind" during a regular meeting on April 10 at 7 p.m. Marion students' scores overall ranked above Grant Wood AEA and Iowa's in several subject areas and grade levels.

Emerson Elementary Principal Nicole Harmer said growth is seen in every area and Starry Elementary Principal Annette Maier said they are building on base skills currently established.

In addition, high school scores in 10th and 11th grades are way up and are in keeping with MISD's tradition of excellence, they said.
