Victories over City High, Western Dubuque, and Camanche last week lifted the Linn-Mar girls' tennis team's record to 6-1 overall. The Lions did, however, suffer their first setback of the season on the road against Pleasant Valley.

Last Tuesday, Linn-Mar defeated City High by a score of 8-1. Megan Burr, Lauren Resewehr, Katie Nowak, Whitney Guthrie, and Piper Boysen all scored singles wins against the Little Hawks. Burr and Ellie Anderson were winners at number one doubles, Resewehr and Nowak earned victories at number two doubles, and Guthrie and Boysen also reigned supreme at number three doubles.

The Lions were a perfect 9-0 against Western Dubuque while also winning at 6-3 against Camanche. Linn-Mar's lone setback against Pleasant Valley was a 9-0 beatdown.

Linn-Mar will be back in action next at home against Cedar Rapids Xavier.
