A well-rounded, team effort by the Linn-Mar boys soccer team helped them earn their seventh victory of the season last week on the road against Waterloo East. The Lions picked up a hard-fought 4-0 win over the Trojans in Mississippi Valley Conference play last Tuesday evening.

Four different players found the back of the net as Ethan Fish, Koby Wesselink, Mohammed Tawfik, and Obed Micomyiza all scored goals for Linn-Mar. Patrick Talley and Ben McCullough assisted on goals in the victory while the Lions' line of defense kept the Trojans out of position to score throughout the shutout win.

The Lions were on the wrong end of a 4-0 loss at home against Waterloo West just a few nights later. The Wahawks were led by Adin Turanovic's two goal performance while their goalkeeper Vladimir Gonzalez stopped seven Lion shots to shut out Linn-Mar.

The loss to West dropped Linn-Mar's record to 7-8 overall for the season. The team will be back in action against Cedar Rapids Jefferson and Cedar Falls this week to wrap up regular season play.
