Football season is almost upon us for the 2017-18 high school season and the Cedar Rapids Officials Association is looking for more officials.

The Association is missing five experienced officials from last season (two have passed away and three retired due to health issues) and would like to fill the spots before the season begins.

Training sessions for new officials, rules study sessions, pre-season scrimmages and State clinics are available for men and women who are interested in becoming high school officials.

The first meeting for beginning officials will be on Thursday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will take place at the Grant Wood AEA building located at 4401 6th Street SW near Hawkeye Downs Raceway.
