Noble, Ahomana back at Coe
by Brandon Leonard Correspondent · August 24th, 2017

A pair of Linn-Mar Class of 2015 graduates, Trevor Noble and Lotu Ahomana, are looking to make an impact for a Coe College football program that has achieved a solid amount of success over the years. In 2016, the Kohawks had a few All-Americans including Gagliardi Trophy runner-up Trevor Heitland, won a school-record 11 games, and an Iowa Conference Championship while still having seven student-athletes receive honors for the All-IIAC Fall Academic Team. In 2017, Noble and Ahomana are looking to make a splash and keep the train rolling in Cedar Rapids.

Noble, a wide receiver for Coe, has seen limited action in his first two years, due to a lot of upperclassmen performing well at his position. With the likes of former Marion Indian Ty Gunderson, among others, no longer on the team due to graduation, Noble is aiming for a big season. He's snagged four catches for 47 yards and a touchdown in his Coe career already. Expect those numbers to change in 2017.

Ahomana, a fullback for the Kohawks, was selected to the All-IIAC Fall Academic Team for his efforts on and off the gridiron. Ahomana is one of two fullbacks listed on Coe's roster for 2017 along with senior James Pesek. He will be fighting to get on the field as Pesek is the incumbent starter at the position for the Kohawks.

Coe will kick off its season on the road on Saturday, September 2, at 1 p.m. against Wisconsin-River Falls. The Kohawks will open up their home slate of games against long-time rival Cornell on Saturday, September 9.
