Both the boys' and girls' cross country teams for Linn-Mar represented the school well last Saturday at the annual Cedar Rapids Prairie Invitational. The Lion boys were victorious in the team race while the girls team placed second against stacked competition.

For the Linn-Mar boys, sophomore Dylan Dolezal led the charge with a third-place finish. Senior Colin Johnston joined him in the top five as he placed fifth while junior Trent Long placed 10th. Johnny Sietz placed 17th and Brycen Snell was 18th to give the Lions 53 total points and the win.

For the Linn-Mar girls, Micah Poellet and Lilly Geelan were third and fourth behind the Hostetler sisters from Mid-Prairie who finished first and second. Chloe Skidmore placed 22nd, Rachel Bohnenkamp finished 29th and Abby Van Rheenen rounded things out with a 35th place finish. That gave the Lions a total score of 90, 30 points behind meet champion Cedar Falls.

Both Marion teams raced as well and were highlighted by a 25th place finished by Hallie Kephart. The Marion girls placed eighth in the 21-team field with a score of 296 while the Marion boys, led by 29th place finisher Harrison Vander Linden, placed 16th overall in the team race.
