Laube commits to St. Thomas University
by Brandon Leonard Correspondent · October 5th, 2017

Marion High School senior Mia Laube and the Marion Indians have their sights set on one thing this upcoming basketball season: a Class 4A State Championship. However, Laube is also looking down the road a little bit as she announced her plans to continue her career as a student-athlete next fall at St. Thomas University located in St. Paul, MN.

Laube has played a big role for the Indians during her basketball career, helping the Indians make it to back-to-back state tournaments while also winning the WaMaC Conference. As a sophomore, Laube was named to the Class 4A All-State Third Team in addition to being named to the First Team All-WaMaC squad the past two seasons. Laube is also an All-State soccer player as well as the senior Class President, Student Senate President and National Honor Society President at Marion.

St. Thomas is known nationwide as an NCAA Division III powerhouse in most of its athletics, and its women's basketball program is no different. When the dust settled for the 2016-17 season, St. Thomas finished with a record of 31-1 overall and made it to the NCAA Division III Final Four.
