A successful regional swimming and diving meet led the Linn-Mar girls' swimming and diving team to qualify nine times in eight different events for this weekend's Iowa High School State Swimming and Diving Meet that will take place in Marshalltown. The meet will kick off on Friday evening as the diving portion of the meet will take place shortly after 5 p.m. while the swimming will start at roughly 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Lions will be represented by Megan Norris and Blair Pladsen on Friday for the diving meet. For swimming, Ella Wagner, Katie Dennis, Emma Behrens and Shannon Kelley will all swim in individual races. Wagner will compete in the 200 Individual Medley, Dennis is a qualifier in the 50 Freestyle, Behrens will compete in the 100 Butterfly, and Kelley will go the distance in the 500 Freestyle.

The Lions also qualified in three relays: the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 Freestyle Relay, and the 400 Freestyle Relay.

If you're unable to attend the action this weekend but would still like to watch the Lions compete, a link to the meet will be provided on www.ighsau.org for both the swimming and diving portions of the meet.
