Community raises more than $2,000 at District Debut
by Report submitted · February 1st, 2018

Thursday, January 25, Uptown Marion, hosted its District Debut fundraiser event designed to preview new businesses and shows in Uptown Marion. Attendees experienced catering by Bistro 319 at one of Uptown's newest venues, The Famous Mockingbird. From there they went on to see a full private preview showing of 'Significant Other' at The Giving Tree Theater on its three-year anniversary and won Valentine's Day themed prizes from local businesses.

"Not only was it a great event to experience the entertainment we have right here in Marion, but it raised money for Uptown Marion Main Street programs," said Michelle Wilson, Chair of the Organization Committee. "Our Eat. Drink. & Be Marion Pub Crawl & Fundraiser is such a fun event in the summertime, we wanted to offer that same fun night out exploring Uptown in a cozier winter setting."

Eat. Drink. & Be Marion will be July 12, 2018. Tickets to go on sale in April.

"We have a tall order of things the Board of Advisors and Volunteer Committees want to accomplish this year in support of Uptown businesses and beautification efforts in the district," said Brooke Prouty, Uptown Program Director.

Proceeds from this event will be put towards the ongoing revitalization and beautification of the Uptown District. For more information on the Uptown Marion Main Street Programs, visit:
